Metro Parks is sponsoring a Fall Tree Festival on October 15th from 10-3pm at Wright Park in Tacoma. Go climb a tree with a rope and harness, create leaf art or participate in a creative scavenger hunt. This totally FREE event will let kids experience climbing and after, they can have fun running around the newly designed playground, or looking at the WICKED plants at the conservatory.
Climbers will be supervised by certified arborists who will bring ropes, helmets and harnesses to help the kids climb safely. They can also help answer any questions you might have about urban forests or your own tree care questions. I plan on asking about trimming an unruly tree at my house. Best times, how to cut the limbs etc. So, bring your sense of adventure and your questions and prepare to have a GREAT time!
